Heat Losses and Heat Gains
Performing accurate heat loss and heat gain calculations are integral to designing your heating and cooling systems.
Heat loss and gain calculations are a simple steady state calculation, therefore there are many types of software which can carry out these calculations, but they are generally limited. We use IES Virtual Environment to create a 3D model of the building and can provide highly accurate heating and cooling loads to ensure that your plant is correctly sized.
Often simple calculations are performed with many assumptions and large margins added on. This creates either oversized heating equipment, or undersized cooling equipment due to the simplistic solar gains and runs the risk of overheating. By using 3D modelling software these potential pitfalls can be avoided.
Walker Energy Analysis can provide highly accurate heating and cooling loads in compliance with CIBSE Guide A, to ensure your plant is accurately sized to meet the design criteria and save money.
