Project: Tingley Garden Centre & Adventure Play Centre

Description: This project comprises of a new garden centre in Tingley near Wakefield, and an existing golf club building which is being refurbished as an adventure play centre. The garden centre consists of large retail areas, restaurant, indoor play areas and welfare facilities. While the adventure play building will consist of three storeys of café/restaurant area, offices and welfare facilities.

The garden centre is assessed under Part L2A while the refurbished adventure play centre is assessed under Part L2B.

The development was required to meet the local authority planning requirement of 10% of regulated energy from a low carbon source, and a 20% redution in CO2 emissions over the notional building.

Key design features:

• High efficiency air source heat pump heating and cooling.
• Power factor correction.
• 34kWp roof top PV array.
