Part L Compliance & EPC
Part L compliance is assessed differently depending on whether the building is residential or non-domestic, and each route has its own calculation method, its own software, and its own accreditation. We carry out both, using recognised compliance software, from the design stage calculation through to the as-built assessment and EPC.
Which Part L Route Does Your Project Need?
New build and conversion dwellings: assessed under Part L1, using SAP calculations, from an accredited OCDEA. This covers new dwellings and conversions creating a new dwelling from a building not previously used as one.
Non-domestic buildings: assessed under Part L2, using SBEM or dynamic simulation modelling, producing the BRUKL report building control requires at both design stage and as-built.
Both routes carry through to an EPC at completion, generated from the confirmed as-built calculation.
Not sure which applies to your project, or working on a mixed-use scheme that needs both? Get in touch and we’ll confirm the right route before any modelling starts.
